Thursday’s junior varsity football game between the Bainbridge High School Bearcats and Thomasville High School Bulldogs at Thomasville’s Veterans Memorial Stadium was suspended by lightning early in the fourth quarter with the Bulldogs leading 7-6.

Bearcats receivers coach Larry Cosby, who helped coach Wednesday’s game, said the officials talked to Bearcats head coach Ed Pilcher and Bulldogs head coach Richard Marsh at the beginning of the fourth quarter.

‘The officials told the coaches that the severe weather would probably continue for a while and they agreed to suspend the game,” Cosby said.

Isiah Brown tried to run in for the two-point conversion but was stopped just short.

The Bulldogs took a 7-0 lead scoring on a short pass and an extra point kick early in the third quarter.
