The graveside funeral service for Ruth Heard, 85, of Bainbridge, will be held Saturday, Sept. 10 at 3 p.m. Roselawn Memory Gardens with Pastor Jeff Stapleton officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Born August 7, 1926 in San Martin, Calif., Mrs. Heard died Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Heard was preceded in death by her husband, Elton Troupe Heard; her sister, Lorraine Jones; and her granddaughter, Lisa Heard.

Survivors include her children, Linda Laman of Chicago, Ill., Cindy McConnell of Bainbridge, Ronnie Heard of Irvington, Ala., Terry Heard of Griffin, Ga., and Debbie Heard of Jacksonville, Fla.; her brother-in-law, James Heard of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
