A few more people have qualified to be included on the ballot for municipal offices in the Nov. 8 general election.

Local businessman and minister Willie Lamb has qualified to run for Bainbridge City Council District B, Post 5, currently held by Roslyn Palmer. Palmer qualified to run for re-election earlier in the week.

Although Lamb and his wife, Vivian, have businesses on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive—part of District A—he listed his residence as 1714 S. West Street, which makes him a candidate for District B.

There are two Bainbridge City Council posts to be filled in the general election, Post 5 and Post 6, currently held by Dr. Dean Burke. Lamb was eligible to choose which council post he wanted to run for, said Decatur County Chief of Elections Doris White.

Dr. Burke qualified to run for re-election without opposition, as did Councilman Luther Conyers.

All four Attapulgus City Council seats and the office of the town’s mayor are up for election. All five incumbents qualified for re-election: Mayor Johnny Medley and council members Janice Baty, Lamar Maxwell, Rex Wade Sr. and Doris Gay.

In Climax, two council seats are up for election to be filled at-large. The only two people to qualify were incumbent Vanessa Martin and non-incumbent Bob Jones.

Two Brinson Town Council seats, as well as the office of mayor, will be included in the November election. Qualifying for Council Post 1 were incumbent Councilman Franklin Faircloth and non-incumbent Monty Bullock. Qualifying for re-election without opposition were Mayor Jimmy Earp and Councilman Joe Belvin, who holds Council Post 3.
