The funeral service for Agnew Wright, 81, of Bainbridge, was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Hatchett and Rev. Danny VunCannon officiating.

A graveside service was held at 3:30 p.m. at Floral Memory Gardens in Albany, with Dr. C. Phil Tondee and Rev. Brian Hatchett officiating. Mark Ramick, Michael Smith, Hugh Wright, Tony Wright, Danny Williams, Ray McCook, and Jessie Barthel will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Loyal Soldiers Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wiregrass Hospice, 432 E. Shotwell St., Bainbridge, GA 39819 or Alzheimer’s Association, P. O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.

Mr. Wright was born October 24, 1929 in Coleman, Ga., the son of Burtis Wright and Josephine Ramsey Wright. He died Aug. 23, 2011 at his residence. He served in the Georgia National Guard and was the owner and operator of Bainbridge Roofing and Sheet Metal. Mr. Wright was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Loyal Soldiers Sunday School Class and was a deacon for many years.

Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his brothers, Charlie Wright and Burtis Wright.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Maude Harbuck Wright of Bainbridge; his son, Donald Wright of Bainbridge, GA; his daughters, Donna Weathersby and her husband, Randy, of Bainbridge, and Diane Donaldson and her husband, Wayne, of Ball Ground, Ga.; his sisters, Liz Potts of Eastman, Ga., Margie Gilbert of Oviedo, Fla., and Joyce Williams of Lake City, Ga.; his grandchildren, Ryan Weathersby and his wife, Mandy, Josh Weathersby and his wife, Andrea, Heather Donaldson, Holley Makela and her husband, Taylor, and Khelee Sawyer and her husband, Kevin; his great-grandchildren, Colby Weathersby, Kaitlyn Weathersby, Lexie Weathersby, Hollynd Makela, Ronin Makela, and Lilly Sawyer; and his lifelong family friend, Ruby Brown.
