The Decatur County Firefighters Association plans to hold boat races on the Flint River on Saturday, Sept. 10.

People will be able to view the races at the Earle May Boat Basin. The gates will open at 6 a.m., with the races to be held between noon and until dark.

Admission for children aged 5 years old or younger will be free; $5 for children aged 5-12; and $8 for anyone over 12. Food and non-alcoholic drinks will be sold.

Proceeds will benefit volunteer firefighters in Decatur County.

The races are sanctioned by the Outboard Drag Boat Association. Its website is www.odbaracing.com.
