BHS cheerleaders perform for parents at the end of their cheer camp this week.

Bainbridge High School varsity cheerleaders have been busy preparing for the upcoming football season and their cheerleading competition season.

This past week, they held a cheerleading camp; on Monday, Florida State University cheerleading coach Staci Sutton visited to work with the BHS cheerleaders on their stunt skills. They also learned their competition routine in preparation for hosting the Bearcat Cheer Classic competition on Sept. 17.

“[Sutton] taught all of us the necessary stunting skills and techniques to compete in the state of Georgia and the new stunts that are required by GHSA this year,” said Michael Jones, captain of the BHS varsity cheerleaders. “Not only was she a great help teaching us our new stunts, but she kicked off our week on a great note!”
