The funeral service for Evelyn J. Smith, 80, of Eldorendo, Ga., was held on Sunday, July 17, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ann Callahan officiating.

Mrs. Smith was born Nov. 5, 1930, in Donalsonville, the daughter of David Sim Josey and Edna Howard Josey. She died July 15, 2011, at her residence.

She was an inspector with ITT Thompson with more than 15 years of service. Mrs. Smith was a member of Eldorendo Baptist Church and a former member of the V.F.W. Post 4904 Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph “Buster” Smith; and her three brothers.

Survivors include her two sons, David Smith and his wife, Fran, of Mobile, Ala., and James Smith of Bainbridge; her three grandchildren, Chris Smith of Lexington, Ky., Edna Steele and her husband, Jason, of Daphne, Ala., and Robert Smith of Eldorendo; her two great-grandchildren, Owen and Riley Steele of Daphne; her sister, Ila Reed of Brinson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
