Callie Pickle, daughter of Amy Pickle of Climax and Kevin Pickle of Colquitt, and a first-grade student at West Bainbridge Elementary School, received the Student of the Year award in memory of Mrs. Nancy Barineau. Mrs. Barineau was a first-grade teacher at West Bainbridge Elementary School when she was killed in an automobile accident at the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year. The award is given to a first-grade student who exemplifies Mrs. Barineau’s kind and gentle qualities. Callie is the first student to receive the award and her name will be placed on a plaque displayed in the school lobby. She is the granddaughter of Cal and Jean Bryant of Climax ,and Royce and Gail Pickle of Colquitt.
