Tammy Ingram of Bainbridge announces the engagement of her daughter, Alexis Leverette, to Nathan Tomberlin of Bainbridge.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jesse and Frances Butler, Linda Toms and Billy Leverette, all of Bainbridge. The late Laurine Griffin was her great-grandmother.

She is a 2010 graduate of Bainbridge High School and is attending Bainbridge College.

The groom-to-be is the son of Dan and Sharon Tomberlin of Vidalia, and the grandson of Sandy Tomberlin of Destin, Fla., Warren and Alberta Warren of Baxley, Ga., and the late Dobby Tomberlin.

He is a 2008 graduate of Bainbridge High School, where he was the recipient of the John Phillip Sousa Award and a band captain. He is a student at Lee University and a songwriter.

The wedding is planned for Aug. 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Bainbridge Church of God. The reception will follow at the Kirbo Center. Formal invitations have been sent.
