The funeral service for Wilford “Sam” Pritchett, 72, of Bainbridge will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 23, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Henry Covington officiating.

Interment will follow at Roselawn Memory Gardens with military honors. Active pallbearers will be Donald Rackley Jr., Scott Spencer Jr., Paul Brittain, Stacy Strickland, Connor Strickland and Kevin Chapman.

Mr. Pritchett was born March 24, 1939, in Jeff Davis County, Ga., the son of Beeler Wilford Pritchett and Rena Ricketson Pritchett. He died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at his residence.

He was a graduate of Jeff Davis High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Korea. Mr. Pritchett was employed by Amoco Fabrics & Fibers for many years and later worked with Southwind Plantation as the outside business manager. He was a regular donor for the American Red Cross Blood program, with more than 13 gallons donated. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Ivey Funeral Home.
