Services for Alfred Stubbs Jr., 56, of Tallahassee, Fla., were held Saturday, June 18, at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Tallahassee with Elder Bobby Duval officiating.

Interment followed at Southside Cemetery in Tallahassee with Andre Hayes, David Simmons, Ronald Farmer, Glen Simmons, Donald Farmer and Douglas Majszak acting as pallbearers.

Mr. Stubbs was born April 3, 1955, in Pine Hill, Ala. He died June 8, 2011. He graduated from Patch Han High School, Long Island, N.Y., and received his bachelor’s degree from Tampa Business College before joining the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Mae Stubbs; his father, Alfred Stubbs Sr.; three brothers, Elvis Clyde Stubbs, Willie Louis White and Isaac J. White.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Henderson-Stubbs; one daughter, Ashley J. Stubbs; one stepdaughter, Andrena Peters; two sons, Alex Stubbs of Thomasville, Ala., and Steven Stubbs of Norfolk, Va.; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nine sisters, two brothers, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
