Mrs. Helen Hegedus, 49, of Bainbridge, died on Friday, May 27, 2011, at the Miller County Nursing Home in Colquitt, Ga.

A private service will be held at a later date.

She was born Oct. 25, 1961, in Norfolk, Va., to the late Curtis Collins and the late Reba Commer Collins. She graduated high school and was a meat cutter at Harvey grocery store.

Survivors include her companion, Phillip Sorrell of Bainbridge; two close family friends, Karen Barfield and Charlie Cook; a daughter, Amie Lynn Hegedus of Lakeland, Fla.; two sisters, Laura “Tobi” Godfrey of Moyock, N.C., and Cindy Johnson of Chesapeake, Va., as well as 14 step-grandchildren.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
