Funeral services for Christy Deann Scott, 27, of Iron City, Ga., will be held on Thursday, May 12, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with the Revs. Jimmy Walden, Greg Parker, Ron McCaskill and Jim McLaughlin officiating.

Interment will follow in Corinth Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Iron City, Ga., with Jimmy Henry, Michael Sanders, Wendall Knight, Marcus Cox, Chris Slade and Alan Mikael Sherburn serving as active pallbearers.

Born April 19, 1984, in Bainbridge, Ga., Mrs. Scott died on Saturday, May 7, 2011, in Iron City.

Mrs. Scott was the daughter of Eugene Sanders and Betty Henry. She worked as a sales clerk with Family Dollar Stores.

Survivors include her daughter, Bridget Ann Scott of Iron City; her father, Clarence Eugene Sanders and his wife, Claudia, of Bainbridge, Ga.; her mother, Betty Ann Jones and her husband, Jonathan Neall, of Colquitt, Ga.; her paternal grandmother, Nina Louise Sanders of Bainbridge; two brothers, Jimmy Wayne Henry and his wife, Danielle, of Colquitt, Ga. and Marcus Anthony Cox of Colquitt, Ga.; a stepbrother, Jason Juarez of Bainbridge; and a stepsister, Michelle Guaduelupe of Bainbridge; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, JoAnn and Marcell Henry; her paternal grandfather, Leslie Sanders; and her husband, Roger L. Scott Jr, better known as “Rodney.”
