Private family services for Alice Sherred, 87, of Cairo, Ga., will be held at a later date.

Alice Audrey Barstow Sherred was born March 27, 1924, in Union City, Pa., to Leon and Bernice Holland Barstow. She died May 8, 2011, at Grady General Hospital.

Mrs. Sherred lived in Florida many, many years before moving to Cairo, Ga. She was a member of the Eastern Star and Our Father’s House.

She was married to Ronald Albert Sherred, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include her children; Charles E. Sherred and his wife, Yvette, of Cairo, Ronald Sherred and his wife, Linda, of Pennsylvania, and Rebecca S. Potts and her husband, William, of Lynn Haven, Fla.; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
