Funeral services for Woodrow “Woody” Pugh, 81, of West Palm Beach, Fla., were held April 9 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in West Palm Beach with the Rev. Joseph B. Tyson officiating.
Interment was in Glenwood Memorial Cemetery in Riviera Beach, Fla., with Tyrone Carlson, Calvin Walker, Anthony Henry, Kevin Judd, Terrance Williams and Tony Crawford serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Pugh was born Jan. 21, 1930, in Blountstown, Fla., and died March 29, 2011, in West Palm Beach. He moved to West Palm Beach in the late 1940s and was employed by Boynton Beach Landscaping Company. He later started his own business, Pugh & Starling Tree Trimming and Landscaping.
He is survived by a loving companion, Ella R. Walker; children Carl Lee Pugh, Woodrow D. Pugh, Ronald L. Pugh, Lorenza Pugh, Willie Frank Pugh and Princess Kimbrough; one brother, Lorenza Pugh; sisters, Dollie Mae Lowe, Blanche Crawford and Jessie M. Williams; eight grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Stevens Brothers Funeral Home in West Palm Beach was in charge of funeral arrangements.
