Funeral services for Annie Beth McLemore, 95, of Miller County, were held Tuesday, April 5, at Branchville Missionary Baptist Church in Miller County with the Rev. Eric Collins officiating.

Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Colquitt with Charles Backey, Curtis Burke, Jerome Gaines, Thomas J. McLemore, James Edward Miller and L.J. Sheffield acting as pallbearers.

Mrs. McLemore was born Dec. 20, 1915, one of twin daughters, to the late Coach and Annie Gilbert Thomas. She died March 31, 2011.

She received her education in the Seminole and Decatur County schools, and was a member of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Cyrene as a young woman. She later joined Branchville M.B. Church in Miller County where she was a faithful worker and supporter, serving on the usher board and as a deaconess.

She was married to Harmon McLemore, the identical twin of her late twin sister’s husband on Nov. 26, 1933.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, her parents, 11 siblings, including her twin sister, Elizabeth Thomas McLemore, and her son, Harmon McLemore Jr.

Survivors include her daughters, Eurkie L. McLemore and Brenda Sheffield; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Guyton Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
