Funeral services for Ruthie D. Riley Washington, 68, of Attapulgus, Ga., were held Saturday, March 19, at New Jerusalem Church of Christ near Attapulgus, Ga., with the Rev. Randall Hines Sr. officiating.

Interment followed in Sherman and Williams Cemetery in Attapulgus with CaCar Riley, Eddie Smith, John Pittman, Rathel Riley, Terry Riley and Patrick Riley serving as active pallbearers.

Born Nov. 23, 1942, Mrs. Washington died on March 11, 2011, at Bainbridge Healthcare.

Mrs. Washington was retired after having been employed as a housekeeper for more than 50 years in West Palm Beach, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Washington.

Survivors include a step-mother, Mrs. Arster Riley of Homerville, Ga.; seven sisters, Ethel L. Davis, Angeline Knlow, Sally Grice and Maddie Bonner, all of Homerville, Zollie Grice of Kingston, Ga., and Lossie L. Pittman of Marianna, Fla.; three brothers, Wadell Riley and Eddie Riley, both of Pearson, Ga., and S.T. Riley of LaGrange, Ga.; two devoted nieces, Patricia Ann Riley and Andrea Riley of Attapulgus; her sister-in-law, Catherine Riley of Attapulgus; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
