BHS golfers in invitational Saturday

Coach Tom Wheeler’s Bainbridge High School Bearcats golf team will take a perfect 2-0 record into today’s annual Bearcat Invitational Golf Tournament at Bainbridge Country Club.

The Bearcats opened their season Tuesday, February 22 with a victory over the Early County High School Bobcats.

BHS was led by Adam Anderson and Hunter Boyd with nine-hole scores of 41 and Madison Malone, with a nine-hole round of 44.

On Tuesday, March 1 the Bearcats shot 176 to down the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets, who shot 184. BHS was led by Adam Anderson with a 38 and Jim Griffin with a 40.

The Bearcats will be joined by eight other teams for today’s invitational that gets underway today at 8 a.m.

The other teams include Hardaway of Columbus, Valdosta, Early County, Thomas County Central, Lee County, and Brookstone of Columbus.

Also in the tournament are Northside of Columbus, Columbus High School and Lowndes County High School.
