Bainbridge High School Bearcats senior linebacker Jamario Brown has received first team All-State honors.
Brown, who also saw duty at running back during the 2010 season, was named to the first team on the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association (GACA) All-State team. On Wednesday, he signed a national football letter of intent with the Albany State University Golden Rams.
Brown led the Bearcats in tackles with 86. Five of his tackles were for losses and he had nine big plays, one caused fumble one pass breakup and three fumble recoveries.
As a running back, Brown had nine carries for 27 yards, a three yards per carry average and scored two touchdowns.
Bearcats head coach Ed Pilcher called Brown a team leader who always gave his all.
“As a sophomore we tried Jamario at running back and he did very well,” the Bearcats head coach said. “Later he found a home at linebacker and really excelled.
“He always played all out and never complained. I am so proud for him. He was one of our best leaders and is just an outstanding young man.”
