Lorraine Kain Cook

The graveside funeral service for Lorraine Kain Cook, 82, of Cartersville, Ga., will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 5, at Cairo Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Mosley officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside funeral service.

Mrs. Cook was born July 13, 1928, in Bainbridge, Ga., the daughter of DeWitt Kain and Trudie Shirah Kain. She died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at Starcrest of Cartersville. She graduated from Bainbridge High School, was a homemaker and a former member of First Baptist Church in Bainbridge.

Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband, Julian Lee Cook; her brother, William Lawrence “W.L.” Kain; and her two sisters, Frances Kain Worthington and Virginia Kain Hartley.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John and Terri Cook of Cartersville; and her granddaughter, Courtney Arenas and her husband, Daniel, of Cartersville.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
