Funeral services for James H. Moore, 88, of Colquitt, Ga., were Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Colquitt First Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Burrell officiating.
Interment followed in the Colquitt City Cemetery with Jamie Moore, Lex Moore, Trent Moore, W.C. Yates Jr., Larry Whatley and John Weaver serving as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Retired Teachers Association.
Mr. Moore was born Aug. 18, 1922, and died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at Miller County Hospital.
Mr. Moore was a retired Miller County School Superintendent and a member of the Colquitt First Baptist Church. He was a member of the Retired Teachers Association, the Walter C. Dancer Lodge #115, the Albany Hasan Temple, the Gerald Grow Post No. 165 American Legion, and the Gideons.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Hortense Moore of Colquitt; two daughters, Cyndi Yates of Colquitt, and Patti Barwick of Sylvester, Ga.; one brother, Murray Moore of Colquitt; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the Shriners Hospital.
Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
