Jim Smith has owned The Book Nook for 11 years in three different locations and says he has enjoyed every minute of it; but after unsuccessful attempts to sell the business, he has decided to call it quits.

He plans to start liquidation sales beginning next week, and continue the sales until March 19, the last date the store will be open.

Smith said the business has been great and a good living, the customers have been wonderful and he is reluctant to do this, but as he approaches age 75 he is ready to retire.

“If someone comes forward and shows an interest in buying the business between now and then—fine—but if not, March 19 will be the last date the Book Nook will be in operation,” he said.

All through February the store will be open six days a week, Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with big price reductions on the merchandise.
