Hazel King Glisson

The funeral service for Hazel King Glisson, 77, of Bainbridge, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Harrell and Pastor Bruce Hoose officiating.

Interment will follow at West Bainbridge Cemetery with Clay Glisson, Anthony Glisson, Roy Dukes, Leonard Bennett, Bill Davis and Morris Glisson serving as active pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 27, at Ivey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Glisson was born Jan. 13, 1934, in Brinson, Ga., the daughter of Richard Horace King and Johna Dukes King. She died on Jan, 25, 2011, at her residence. She graduated from Brinson High School, later became a seamstress for Jack Winter Inc. and was a member of New Fountainhead Baptist Church. Mrs. Glisson was preceded in death by her husband, Ceaphus Glisson.

Survivors include her sons, Andy Glisson and his wife, Dianne, and Allen Glisson and his wife, Carolyn, all of Bainbridge; her brother, E.D. King of Rogers, Ark.; her sister, Louise Stanley of Statesville, N.C.; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
