Brinson receives Ph.D.

Thomas Edward Brinson Jr., a 1998 graduate of Bainbridge High School, received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from

Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University last month. While studying at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering, Dr. Brinson earned multiple fellowships and conducted research with FSU Center for Advanced Power Systems (CAPS), NASA Glenn Research Center and Florida Center for Advanced AeroPropulsion. His dissertation was titled “Modeling, Simulation and Optimization of a Fuel Cell-based Power System for Future Aircraft Propulsion.” The outstanding research helped to secure Dr. Brinson a position with General Electric’s GE Aviation business in Cincinnati, Ohio. At GE Aviation, he is employed as lead engineer/technologist under the energy systems and technology team within the energy systems advanced technology programs organization. Dr. Brinson is the son of Eddie and Alesia Brinson of Bainbridge.
