Funeral services for Mr. Collie Edward “Ed” Kirkland Jr., 65, of Donalsonville, Ga., were held Sunday, Jan. 2, in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, Ga., with the Rev. Laddie DeRocco and Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating.

Interment followed at Salem-Seminole Baptist Church Cemetery in Donalsonville with Toby Robinson, Josh Tice, Daylon Tice, Allen Love, Thomas Thompson, Josh Cook and Jacob Jackson acting as pallbearers.

Mr. Kirkland was born in Seminole County, Ga., on Sept. 22, 1945, and died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at his residence.

He served six years in the National Guard was of the Baptist faith and a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Collie Edward Kirkland Sr. and Erma Merle Adams Kirkland.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline Kirkland of Donalsonville; four sons, Jamie Kirkland of Tallahassee, Fla., Bryan Ed Kirkland, Kenneth Tice and Lavon Tice, all of Donalsonville; two daughters, Tammy Williams of Colquitt, Ga., and April Killebrew of Donalsonville; a sister, Linda Willis of Iron City, Ga.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
