Graveside services for Bettie Powell, 84, of Bainbridge, Ga., were held Thursday, Dec. 23, at Oak City Cemetery.

Mrs. Powell was born in Bainbridge on Sept. 22, 1926, a daughter of the late Charlotte (Hawkins) and William Spraggins. She died Dec. 21, 2010, at Memorial Hospital.

She was married to James Wilson Powell, who preceded her in death. She was a homemaker who loved gardening, especially flowers.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen Brooks, of Nashville, Ga.; a son, James Scott Powell of Bainbridge; grandchildren, Kimberly James of Norman Park, Ga., Barbara Brooks and Jacob Brooks, both of Nashville, Ga.; and great-grandchild, Meghan Blanchard of Nashville.
