Veterans honored at Jones-Wheat

Jones-Wheat Elementary School honored the nation’s veterans with a program, which was opened with Cooper Genovar, Ellie Godwin and Isaiah Johnson welcoming the guests. Members of the Bainbridge High School Junior ROTC Color Guard presented the colors after which the students were lead in the pledge to the American flag. Jones-Wheat parent Tina Brock, who was introduced by her children, Darley and Dylan, sang the National Anthem. The origin of Veterans Day was read by Ahmad Moody. Xavier Brown, Tate Sellers, Davis Sellers, Robert Howard, Brooklyn Willis, Anna Beth Bibby, Austin Lawrence, Wyatt Wilson and Desirae Beachem read information about each branch of the military. The Jones-Wheat chorus presented several musical selections throughout the program. Principal Larry Clark introduced retired Sgt. William Ross, who was the guest speaker. Darryn Borden, LaKasha Willis, Michael Ryan and Shaniah Bouie presented flags to the military personnel as well as the veterans who were present at the program.
