Funeral services for Danny Shepard, 62, of Climax, Ga., will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 24, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Poppell officiating.

Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Jimmy Shephard, Ken Shephard, Greg Kelly, Rick Kelly, Jeff Kelly and Charlie Miller serving as active pallbearers.

Mr. Shepard was born Jan. 24, 1948, in Bainbridge, Ga., the son of Fredrick Daniel Shephard and Clara Mae Josey Shephard. He died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at his residence.

He was a graduate of Climax High School, Class of 1966, and a member of Magnolia Baptist Church. He served in the U. S. Army and retired from Engelhard Corporation/BASF with more than 20 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Kay Jones Shepard; his daughter, Amanda Shepard King; and his grandson, Tanner Shepard.

Survivors include his son, Daniel Shepard and his fiancée, Jami Hatton, of Camilla, Ga.; his daughters, Deena Shepard of Iron City, Ga., and Angela Shepard Howard of Climax; his brother, Jimmy Shephard and his wife, Brenda, of Climax; his sisters, Louise Miller of Bainbridge and Annette Kelly of Climax; and five grandchildren, Johnathan King, Jacob King, Grayson Shepard, J.J. Shepard and Braeden Gause.
