Lois Cross

Funeral services for Lois Woodham Cross, 92, of Iron City, Ga., were held on Friday, July 9, at Iron City Baptist Church with the Rev. Justin Young officiating.

Interment followed in Corinth Cemetery in Iron City with Charles Cross Sr., Charles Cross Jr., Paul Cross, Wes Logue, Clay Logue, John Cross, Buryl Logue and Andy Cross serving as active pallbearers.

Born Sept. 28, 1917, in Midland City, Ala., Mrs. Woodham died on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at her residence.

Mrs. Cross was a member of Iron City Baptist Church for more than 55 years. She was a homemaker and for 25 years she worked at Jack Winters, which was a division of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Emory Cross; two sons, Joseph Cross and Darrell Cross; three brothers, Rufus Woodham, Henry Woodham and Herbert Woodham; and a sister, Florence W. Jackson.

She is survived by one son, Charles Cross Sr. of Hickory Flat, Ga.; a daughter, Kathryn Logue of Iron City; a brother, Billy Woodham of Donalsonville; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, Ga., was in charge of the arrangements.
