Funeral services for Emma Jean Smith, 79, of Colquitt, Ga., were held Sunday, June 27, at in the chapel of Colquitt Funeral Home with the Revs. Joel Hudgens and Hoyt Donley officiating.

Interment followed at Donley Cemetery with Jeff Dykes, Jody Dykes, Kevin Meredith, Timothy Haire, Chase Widner and Dustin Hancock serving as active pallbearers.

Born Aug. 9, 1930, in Colquitt, Ga., Mrs. Smith died Thursday, June 24, 2010, at her residence.

Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of Faith Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reliford Smith; and two brothers, Kenneth Glass and Luther Glass.

She is survived by three daughters, Ethel Haire, Sue Hall and Nita Dykes, all of Colquitt; two sons, Dean Smith and Donnie Smith, both of Colquitt; two sisters, Calista Sanders and Louise Hodges, both of Bainbridge; as well as seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Colquitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
