Rollins is president of GAE

Local Bainbridge High School counselor, Calvine Rollins, was elected the president of the Georgia Association of Education on April 18, at the annual Representative Assembly in Atlanta, Ga.

GAE is a professional organization for public education professionals and exists to support, protect and strengthen those who nurture Georgia’s children.

Rollins has served in the capacity of vice president for the past four years and has held other positions in the organization throughout her membership years.

The president-elect will serve a two-year term for the organization that has a membership of approximately 44,000 members (statewide) that is made up of teachers, other certified personnel and education support professionals.

Rollins is the wife of Decatur County Board of Education’s member Winston Rollins, and they have three children, Nakisha Brown, Johnissa Wells and Andrew Rollins.
