Jerry Knight, 73, of Bainbridge, will be held Saturday, April 24, at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Cox-Ware Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Vuncannon and Dr. Danny Shepard officiating.
Interment will follow in West Bainbridge Cemetery with Walter West, Randy Overstreet, John Smith, Greg Powell, Ricky Powell, and Ryan Powell serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held immediately following the service.
Born Dec. 31, 1936, in Bainbridge, Mr. Knight passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Ga.
Mr. Knight was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked as an engine repairman for Flint River Electric in Bainbridge. He was a member of West Bainbridge Baptist Church. He loved fishing, had a need for speed, and was a gun enthusiast.
He was preceded in death by his father Marcus Knight; and his wife, Anne M. Gause.
Survivors include his mother, Frances Butler Knight of Bainbridge; two sons, Michael Knight and Terry Knight, both of Bainbridge; three daughters, Rhonda West of Bainbridge, GA, Crystal Overstreet of Sylvania, Ga., and Renee Smith of Statesboro; a sister, Gail Powell of Bainbridge; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Cox-Ware Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
