Queentila Akins

Funeral services for Queentila “Tila” Lashun Akins, 24, of Bainbridge, were held Saturday, April 10, at Emanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Fowlstown with the Rev. James Bank officiating.

Interment followed in Mills Cemetery with Donteris Andrews, Toney Calloway, Carl Hayes, Johnny Lockett, Craig Murphy and Freddie Strong Jr. serving as active pallbearers.

Born Jan. 16, 1986, in Bainbridge, Ms. Akins dies on April 5, 2010, at her residence.

Ms. Akins received her education from Decatur County public schools, attending schools in both Attapulgus and Bainbridge. She was the daughter of Amanda and Leroy Akins Jr. and of Johne Edwards.

Survivors include her daughter, Charquila Likera Akins; two sisters, Shan Drumgo of Atlanta, Ga., and Jessica Nicole Jones of Bainbridge; two brothers, Derrick Akins and Leroy Akins III, both of Bainbridge; her grandparents, Carrie Murphy of Havana, Fla., and Leroy and Alice Akins of Tallahassee, Fla.; her goddaughter and niece, Angelica Jones of Bainbridge; as well as several aunts, uncles, great-aunts, a great-uncle and a host of other family and friends.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
