Funeral Services for Dorothy Lee Ezell Smith, 90, of Thomasville, Ga., formerly of Bainbridge, were held Sunday, March 14, in the chapel of Cox-Ware Funeral Home with Pastor Gerald Horne officiating.

Interment followed in Oak City Cemetery with Terry Smith, Dale Smith, Craig Carr, Mitch Hiers, Don Moody and Kenneth Sheffield serving as active pallbearers.

Born Aug. 30, 1919, in Grady County, Ga., Mrs. Smith died on Friday, March 12, 2010, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Ga.

Mrs. Smith was raised in Grady County, lived most of her life in Bainbridge. She moved to Thomasville two years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Bainbridge Church of God. Mrs. Smith dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Merle Carr of Bainbridge and Wanda Slaughter of Thomasville, Ga.; two sons, Terry Smith of Thomasville, Ga., and Alex Smith of Bainbridge, Ga.; 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elic Smith; three sons, Johnny Mack Smith, Lavon Smith and Jimmy Smith; one daughter, Linda Sheffield; three brothers, H.L. Ezell, Clyde Ezell and Otis Ezell; and one sister, Cathylyn Ritter.

Cox-Ware Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
