Funeral services for Carol Faircloth Meredith, 71, of Colquitt, Ga., were held Saturday, March 6, at Thompson Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Whittaker officiating.

Interment followed at Thompson Cemetery with her grandchildren serving as active pallbearers.

Born Sept. 31, 1938, Mrs. Meredith died Thursday, March 4, 2010, at her residence.

Mrs. Meredith was retired from Amoco Fabrics in Bainbridge and was a member of Thompson Free Will Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Sigo Meredith.

Survivors include a son, Tony Meredith of Colquitt; three daughters, Cathy Matkin of Pensacola, Fla., Susan Evans of Iron City, Ga., and Jennifer NeSmith of Bainbridge; two sisters, Joyce Stephens of Havana, Fla., and Joan Neel of Quincy, Fla.; two sister-in-laws, 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Colquitt Funeral Home in Colquitt, Ga., was in charge of arrangements.
