Funeral services for Frances E. Spears, 89, of Attapulgus, were held Wednesday, March 10, at Attapulgus Cemetery in Attapulgus, Ga., with Jerry Bishop officiating.

Interment followed in the cemetery.

Born April 21, 1920, in Gaskins, Ala., Mrs. Spears died on Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.

Mrs. Spears moved to Decatur County from Darlington, Fla., in 1949. Mrs. Spears was a member of Attapulgus Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jeff Spears; and a daughter, Jimmie Lee Spears Moncrief.

Survivors include four daughters, Elsie S. Brown of Attapulgus, Ga., Jeanette S. Norris of Bainbridge, Doris Spears Gay of Attapulgus and Carol Nelson of Climax; two sons, James Richard Spears of Bainbridge and Jeffery Spears of Attapulgus; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren.

Cox-Ware Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
