Funeral services for Elmeda Armstrong Lee, 67, of Macon, Ga., were held on Monday, March 8, at Harts Mortuary at the Cupola in Macon, Ga., with Elder Dan Bryant officiating.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 9, at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville, Ga., with Elder Ross Plowdon officiating.

Born Nov. 27, 1942, in Browns Crossroads Community in Henry County, Ala., Mrs. Armstrong died on Saturday, March 6, 2010.

Mrs. Lee grew up in Dothan, Ala., and she graduated magna cum laude from Troy State University and earned a master’s in chemistry. She taught science in Bainbridge. She and her husband moved to Macon in 1981 and she managed their insurance office until they both retired. She attended Grace Primitive Baptist Church in Macon and was a member of New Prospect Primitive Baptist Church in Henry County, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Floyd Hodges Armstrong; and her first husband, James Carlton Parish.

Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Chester W. Lee; two sons, Bryan L. Parish and Brandon A. Lee; a mother-in-law, a sister-in-law and three grandchildren.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville was in charge of the local arrangements.
