Funeral services for Edward Shaw, 59, of Bainbridge, will be held Saturday, Feb. 27, at 11:30 a.m. at Mount Ararat Primitive Baptist Church in Attapulgus with the Revs. Simon Simmons Jr., H.L. Chaney and S.L. Phillips officiating.

Interment will follow in Conyers Cemetery in Climax with Terrence Brown, Jerron Shaw, Brent Shaw, Kenneth Brown, Derrick Brown and Martery A. Brown Sr. serving as active pallbearers.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church.

Born March 3, 1950, in Bainbridge, Mr. Shaw died on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2010, at Bainbridge Health Care following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Shaw was a retired custodian. He was a member of Mount Ararat Primitive Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Martery A. Brown Sr.; two step-sons, Earl Blackmon and Walter Blackmon; a step-daughter, Daphne Williams; a sister, Marie Brown of Whigham, Ga.; a brother, Albert Shaw Jr. of Tampa, Fla.; two grandchildren and a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Chandler’s Funeral Home in Attapulgus is in charge of arrangements.
