Albert Jackson

Funeral services for Albert Bernard “A.B.” Jackson, 92, of Bainbridge, were held Saturday, Feb. 20, at Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerome Stevenson officiating.

Interment followed in Jonas Lobe Cemetery with Randall Close, Damion Davis, Rodney Close, Chester Holley, Loren Perry II and David Robinson officiating.

Born Nov. 30, 1917, in Bainbridge, Mr. Jackson died on Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at his residence.

Mr. Jackson joined Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church at an early age. He received his education from Four Mile Creek School and Hutto High School.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Albert Jackson Jr., Otis Jackson and Richard Richardson.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Stella Jackson; four daughters, Shirley Perry of Miami, Fla., Betty Knight of Miami, Fla., Marvel Close of Bainbridge and Sanitone Thornton of Columbus, Ga.; a godson, Chester Holley Jr.; special friends, Delores Levens and David Robinson of Bainbridge; several sons-in-law, a sister-in-law; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a niece, several nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
