Memorial services for Danny Avery, 52, of Augusta, formerly of Bainbridge, will be held Thursday, Feb. 11, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Cox-Ware Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Harrell officiating.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cox-Ware Funeral Home.

Born May 28, 1957, in Decatur County, Ga., Mr. Avery died on Feb. 7, 2010, in Augusta, Ga.

Mr. Avery attended Bainbridge High School and was of the Baptist faith. He moved to Augusta in 1996 and enjoyed writing songs and poetry, spending time with family and making people laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Cathy Cooper and Brenda Moncrief.

Survivors include four brothers, John Sizemore of Bainbridge, Tim Avery of Brinson, Matt Avery of Colquitt and Tommy Avery of Bainbridge and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cox-Ware Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
