Funeral services for Iola Earnest “Odie” Vickers, 91, of Bainbridge, were held Monday, Jan. 25 in the chapel of Ivey Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Willis officiating.

Interment followed at Mount Gilead Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Bobby Howard, Ricky Howard, Roy Howard, Roger Smith, Ray Josey and Rodrick Harrell serving as active pallbearers.

Born July 25, 1918, in Decatur County, Ga., Mrs. Vickers died on Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.

Mrs. Vickers was a homemaker and a member of Mount Gilead Free Will Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, I.V. Vickers, and a sister, Sarah Howard.

Survivors include two sisters, Carolyn Smith and Christine Josey, both of Bainbridge; and many nieces and nephews.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
