Funeral services for Essie Buie Walters, 98, of Bainbridge, will be held Sunday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Leroy C. Spinks, the Rev. Paul Medley and Jean Watson officiating.

Interment will follow at Oak City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, at Ivey Funeral Home.

Born Sept. 19, 1911, in Webb, Ala., Mrs. Walters died on Friday, Jan. 22, at Memorial Manor nursing home.

Mrs. Walters was a florist and retired owner of Flower and Gift Shop for 25 years. She was a member of Phelathia Sunday School Class, Past Worthy Matron of Order of the Eastern Star 267, American Legion Auxiliary and V.F.W. Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Walters.

Survivors include three nephews, Ray Buie of Dothan, Ala., Wayne Buie of Dublin, Ga., and Johnny Buie of Bainbridge, and two nieces, Juanita Cook of Pensacola, Fla., and Faye Griffin of Bainbridge.

Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
