The Post-Searchlight is seeking nominations for the Montford-Lynn Peace Officer of the Year Award for 2009. The award will be presented at the annual Chamber of Commerce banquet on Jan. 28, 2010. Nominees need not live in Decatur County but must be actively engaged in a local, state or federal law enforcement agency regularly operating in Decatur County. Nominations must be in writing and must be sent to Peace Officer of the Year, P.O. Nominations should state specifically why the nominee is outstanding in the manner exemplified by the late Capt. Wayne Montford of the Bainbridge Police Department and the late FBI Special Agent and former Bainbridge police chief Idus Lynn.
