Wynell Callahan

Funeral services for Wynelle “Tince” Callahan, 79, of Whigham, Ga., were held Wednesday, Dec. 9, at Whigham Baptist Church with Elder Jon Mizell and the Rev. Leon VanLandingham officiating.

Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery in Whigham with Larry Ulmer, Trey Gibbs, Jeremy Gintz, Neal Meyer, J.L. Rosencrantz and Tim Schafer serving as active pallbearers.

Born Aug. 30, 1930, in Whigham, Mrs. Callahan died Dec. 6, 2009, at her home.

Mrs. Callahan was a member of Tired Creek Primitive Baptist Church and a beautician.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude Callahan; and her brother, Jimmy T. Harrison, Jr.

Survivors include two sons Terry Lee Parker of Whigham and Stephen Dale Callahan of Thomasville, Ga.; a stepson, Larry Callahan of Cairo, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Barbara Laing of Whigham; four sisters, Sara H. Logue of San Antonio, Texas, Virginia Gibbs of Whigham, Mary H. Mucci of Sacramento, Calif., and Bobbie H. Spencer of Naples, Fla.; grandchildren, Shaie Parker Bowen and Terri Lynn Parker Anvar, both of Bainbridge, Bethany Gerleman of Morven, Ga., Justin Lee Parker, Dena Howell and Dale Callahan of Whigham; eight step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and 16 step-great-grandchildren.

Clark Funeral Home in Cairo was in charge of arrangements.
