Ted V. Montee, 95, of Athens, died Nov. 12, 2009.

Born in Pittsburgh, Kan., on July 17, 1914, Mr. Montee was a decorated Navy veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Read.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Martha Montee of Athens, Ga.; his daughter, Melissa Montee of Atlanta, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Lisa Kelly of Atlanta, Ga., and Melissa Zipperer of New Jersey; and one great-grandchild, Christa Kelly of Atlanta, Ga.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Bainbridge or St. Mary’s Hospice House of Athens, Ga.

R.T. Patterson Funeral Home in Lilburn, Ga., is in charge of arrangements.
