Funeral services for Valeta Faircloth Whittaker, 90, of Donalsonville, Ga., will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 25, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Spring Creek Baptist Cemetery in Donalsonville with Howard Whittaker, Dave Whittaker, Greg Whittaker, Cleve Whittaker, Jason Whittaker and Craig Whittaker serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Born Feb. 8, 1919, in Donalsonville, Mrs. Whittaker died on Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at her residence.

Mrs. Whittaker was a member of Spring Creek Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, E.D. Whittaker; two sons, Elliott Whittaker Jr., and Mainous Whittaker; a daughter, Rochelle Moore; and one grandson, Danny Tucker.

Survivors include a son, E.J. Whittaker of Dothan, Ala.; one daughter, Shelva Jean Payne of Liberty, N.C.; a daughter-in-law, Amelia Brookins Whittaker of Donalsonville; a sister, Grace Faircloth Whittaker of Donalsonville; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
