Marty O’Hearn

Funeral services for Marty O’Hearn, 44, of Jakin, Ga., will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, Ga., with the Rev. Fred Odom and brother Ronnie Shiver officiating.

Interment will follow in Springfield Baptist Church Cemetery in Jakin, Ga., with Matt Hill, Ricky Cleveland, Ronnie Murkerson, Darryl Bruner, Troy Easom, Joe West, Marty Guy and Steve Dixon serving as active pallbearers.

Born in Albany, Ga., on March 11, 1965, Mr. O’Hearn died on Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

Mr. O’Hearn graduated from Early County (Ga.) High School in 1983. He was of the Pentecostal faith and worked as a crew foreman for Timber Roundup. Mr. O’Hearn enjoyed collecting tools, racing and building model semi-trucks.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty O’Hearn.

Survivors include his parents, Cliff and Martha O’Hearn of Jakin; one son, Blayne O’Hearn of Donalsonville; a fiancee, Linda Hicks of Jakin; his maternal grandmother, Irene Walton of Alma, Ga.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
