Funeral services for Eddie Hill, also known as “Nig,” 61, were held Friday, Oct. 9, at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Bainbridge with Elder Andy Glover officiating.

Interment followed in Jonas Lobe Cemetery with Eric Artis, Andre Carter, Duriel Harris, Brandon Hill, Marcus Hill and Trevor Stanley officiating.

Born Dec. 7, 1947, in Bainbridge, Mr. Hill died on Oct. 1, 2009, at his residence.

Mr. Hill received his education in Fowlstown, Ga. He lived with his sister, Linda Hill of Fowlstown, later in life.

He was preceded in death by a stepfather; two brothers, James C. Hill and Larry D. Hill; and a niece.

Survivors include two brothers, Johnnie Hill III of Orlando, Fla., and John A. Jackson of Fowlstown; a stepbrother, Willie Jackson of Fowlstown; three sisters, Linda Hill and Annie Powell, both of Fowlstown, and Barbara Harris of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a brother-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
