Memorial services for Thomas Wayne Dickens, 70, of Donalsonville, Ga., were held Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Donalsonville Church of God with the Rev. Kip Boswell officiating.
A private family interment will follow in Oakview Church of God Cemetery in Donalsonville at a later date.
Born in Bascom, Fla., on Jan. 27, 1939, Mr. Dickens died on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, at his residence.
Mr. Dickens served in the U.S. Army. He attended Donalsonville Church of God and worked as an automobile mechanic. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Dickens of Donalsonville; two daughters, Teresa Smith of Donalsonville and Tammy Dickens of Lakeland, Ga.; one son, Timothy Dickens of Donalsonville; three brothers, Jimmy Dickens, Roger Dickens and David Dickens; five sisters, Net Sowell, JoAnne Johnson, Janice Jolly, Minnie Dickens and Nina Basford, all of Florida; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville is in charge of funeral arrangements.
