Funeral services for Sue Sims Hollis, 65, of Bainbridge, Ga., were Friday, June 26, at St. John’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. James Clendenin officiating.
Interment followed at Oak City Cemetery with Doug David, Chris Nelson, Dale Brock, Clayton Penhallegon, Richard Smith and John McRae serving has active pallbearers.
Born on March 23, 1944, in Wilmington, N.C., Mrs. Hollis died on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at her residence.
She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1962, and a graduate of Georgia Southern University. She retired as a teacher with more than 28 years of service from the Decatur County public school system. Mrs. Hollis was a member of the Decatur/Seminole Retired Educators, St. John’s Episcopal Church and various prayer groups and book clubs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin L. Hollis.
Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth H. Wynn of St. Joe Beach, Fla., Julie H. Martin of Daphne, Ala., and Susan H. Thompson of Ailey, Ga.; her brother, Charles F. Sims of Byron, Ga.; her sister, Jenny Herring of Bainbridge, Ga.; and four grandchildren.
Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
